Sited on an outcropping of rock with a 270-degree view of Penobscot Bay, this cottage gracefully integrates horizontal lines that meld with the landscape and disappear into nature. Long, sweeping overhangs and deep, covered porches on all exposures create a sense of shelter, while low hip roofs establish harmony with the rocky surroundings. A subtle theme of curves is seen inside, from the curved kitchen cabinets to the master bedroom turret. The two-story entry and stair hall frame stunning views of the bay from their soaring windows.
